Every time we head to the mountains, we are filled with anticipation about what the day may bring. Beautiful scenery, good weather and safely spotting wildlife are among the things one hopes for in a day out in the mountains. On an early summer hike in the Sheep River area, we were fortunate enough to have all of these come together. Luckily for us, the encounter with this junior cub occurred after we got off the trail and were back in the car. When you see a cub you always need to look around to check and see where the mama bear is,; you don't want to get in between the two.
