Our westward journey from Sundre to Ya Ha Tinda is always an adventure. Nature's theatre never fails to impress, offering glimpses of bears, foxes, wild horses, and more against the backdrop of Alberta's rugged beauty. During a March excursion, the landscape unveiled an unexpected scene: a lone cow near the historic Red Deer River Ranches about to give birth. This was a familiar sight to our companion from summers spent on her grandparents' farm. With keen eyes honed by childhood memories, she predicted the imminent arrival of new life. True to her intuition, on our return journey, we witnessed the miracle unfold—a newborn calf nestled beside its mother taking its first precious sips of milk. Thus, amidst the vastness of the Ya Ha Tinda, the calf's arrival marked a moment of pure wonder.
